Kola Adesina

I am an Executive Director at Sahara Group, a leading international energy (power, upstream, midstream and downstream) and infrastructure conglomerate with operations in over 42 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
I lead Sahara Power Group’s vision of bringing energy to life responsibly by deploying diversified power sources to light up lives and businesses in Nigeria and across Africa. Sahara Power Group connects over 30 million homes and businesses to electricity through its affiliates, including: Ikeja Electric, the largest privately owned power distribution business in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), Egbin Power Plc - the largest thermal plant in SSA and First Independent Power Limited.
I sit on the Board of Egbin Power Plc, First Independent Power Ltd (FIPL), FGN Power Company (an SPV implemented by the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) and also chairs the Board of Ikeja Electric and AXA Mansard Plc.

I hold a B.SC (Insurance), M.SC. (Business), Master in International Law and Diplomacy and I'm an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance. I am an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School Executive Education and The Wharton School Advanced Management Program. The Nigerian Society of Engineers awarded me Fellow Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE). I was given the National Honours Award of Member of The Order of The Federal Republic (MFR) by His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.

I was recently appointed a member of the Presidential Economic Coordination Council (PECC) by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive economic coordination and planning system for Nigeria.

With over two decades of experience in the Energy space, I can share my knowledge, provide valuable insights, and connect members with the right resources. This community has played a crucial role in helping me bridge gaps in knowledge and expertise, enabling me to grow and excel in my field.

I believe in continuous learning and growth which the community will help me achieve. I am looking for new solutions for delivering clean and sustainable energy and how technology (AI) can play a crucial role in achieving this.
